POCHER LAMBORGHINI AVENTADOR: TASTY 1:8 SCALE MEGA-KIT

Pocher's 1:8 scale multi-material Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 weighs in at a massive 7.3 kg (16 lb).

No this is much easier than the old models, but also less detailed. I believe it has about 700 parts as opposed to the 2-3000 of the classic Pocher models

It is interesting that the video does not match Pocher's own instructions: if you follow them, then the car should have no wheels on…

Pocher models - now owned by Hornby - are recognised as some of the most complex and detailed automobile kits made. The Aventador’s 796 parts (below) are made of a range of materials that include metal, rubber and textiles, as well as top quality plastics.

The kit features a number of working components, such as the steering, suspension and spoiler mechanism, plus the usual opening doors and hatches. Many components are screwed together, and when fully assembled, the car measures 595 mm (23.4 in) long.

The real thing comes with a mouthwatering spec - 12-cylinder engine, 700 hp, 2.9 seconds from 0 to 62 mph, top speed 350 km/h. And the engine starts by lifting a small red flap, then pressing the firing button.

Named after a Spanish fighting bull, the Aventador is the first large scale production Lamborghini to have a monocoque made of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic.
