SMN report: The sequel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set shortly after the first film. Now the Guardians travel across the cosmos, struggling to keep together (including their small companion, Baby Groot) while helping Peter Quill learn about his missing father.
The Milano spacecraft (below) has been modelled as a 21-piece kit by Fantastic Plastic to 1:144 scale, and is also available as a toy from stores.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has plenty of aliens, set-piece space battles, and ultra-tech hardware. By the looks of the trailer and other material, there'll be more than enough to keep even the most jaded science fiction fan alert and interested. The retro rock music is an added bonus.
As for kits, we’d love to see a big company like Revell dipping a toe into this market, or at least choose another subject to add to its highly successful Star Wars and Star Trek kits.
However, toy manufacturers are planning plenty more Guardians miniatures, and some of these will be suitable for conversion to form decent scale models.
