WORLD WAR II AVIATION modellers have a huge choice of subjects. Two of the best currently available are the Revell 1:32 and Airfix 1:72 scale kits.
SMN report: The Revell He 111 (header, below) is the larger of the two kits, and at 1:32 scale, makes a truly impressive display piece. But what improves this - and other large-scale aircraft - is the detail you can pack in.
And that's what makes the video (below) especially useful, as the tour and flight demo provide a close look inside the bomber, with plenty of detail in view to help make the miniature version that much more convincing.
The recent Airfix Heinkel He 111P (below) is definitely the best 1:72 kit available. The signature bubble canopy makes the interior highly visible, so adding superdetail is really important.
