VIDEO CAPTURED IN JUNE, 2014 shows US Marine Corps aircraft carrying out air-to-air refuelling.
The tanker involved is a Lockheed Martin KC-130 Hercules, trailing fuel drogues. Those big Osprey props look mighty close to the fuel line, and as this is a very precise aerial manoeuvre anyway, it must be even more so in this case. By comparison, the Harrier pilot's job looks a lot simpler, though appearances are likely to be deceiving.
Whatever, there is plenty of closeup detail revealed in the video, and what springs to mind (as we haven't seen one at a model show) is that a 1:72 scale Herk 'n' Harrier refuelling duo would make an impressive display item, especially with a base painted as a section of water. Done well, such a piece ought to be a show star.
