IPMS MODELWORLD 2014 - DISPLAY OF REMEMBRANCE DAY MODELS

FIRST WORLD WAR 'Remembering 1914-1918' display at IPMS ModelWorld 2014.

There are some beautiful models on display at IPMS ModelWorld 2014, including this selection, taken for us by Mat Irvine.

Plenty of careful work was needed for the rigging (below). Note the delicate struts and rear fuselage woodwork.

Shell-shattered tree stumps (below) nicely rendered.

Almost a streampunk flavour with this special machine (below) built to cross the trenches.

Tracked haulage (below) for a large-bore field gun.

Tank (below) depicted on suitably muddy mini-diorama base.

Extraordinary top-heavy design (below) for a German flying boat. Wooden base nicely captured.

Allied air power (below) shown in an excellent and realistic diorama setting.

Airship (below) draws plaudits for the realistic look of the canvas envelope. Transparent rods keep the model aloft.

Fighter lineup shows the diversity of designs that filled the skies during the conflict.
